After a series of fun ‘work’ meetings over the last few days, I head out today for a (ahem…ho-hum) serious meeting. I’ve been politely but stupidly pointed out to how one is expected to be at a serious meeting involving investments of a few million dollars. I understand that formal attire is a requirement at some of these meetings and I’m fine with it if only people just dropped the hypocrisy and said that this is how they like it to be. But no, tie-ing oneself up is a sure sign of how serious you are. Seriously? (that word again) Putting up a pretence is a show of seriousness??? Anyway, I’m amused and curious.
